Join this virtual program, “Early Steam: Technology & Innovations 1825-1876,” a collaboration between the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the California State Railroad Museum, via Zoom on Saturday, February 15, 2025 beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. PT. Registration is by donation.
You’ll learn about the evolution of early steam locomotives, how the technology changed over time and how that technology improved each new generation of steam locomotives. Featured locomotives will be the John Stevens replica, the John Bullreplica, the Philadelphia & Reading Rocket and the Virginia & Truckee Tahoe from the historic collection of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the C. P. Huntington, the Virginia & Truckee Dayton and the North Pacific Coast Sinoma from the historic collection of the California State Railroad Museum.
