We start today with news from Florence, as widening of the Hunt Highway curve and a major redesign of its intersection with Attaway Road are contemplated in the town’s new fiscal year budget. The town council heard details of the town’s Capital Improvement Plan on Monday and will vote on whether to adopt the CIP on May 6.

Meanwhile, in local sports, it was a quick night at the office for the Vista Grande softball team, as they defeated Apache Junction 17-2. The Spartans scored 15 of their runs in the first inning alone and cruised the rest of the way for a mercy-rule victory.
