Good morning RJ,

Hot on the heels of the weekend’s Cactus Fly-In, City Council members will be asked to approve a new master plan for Casa Grande Municipal Airport today. A study session regarding the airport master plan was held last year. If approved, the plan will replace the 2009 airport master plan and will act as guide for future planning. Meanwhile, a longtime civil rights activist is running to replace outspoken Republican state Sen. Wendy Rogers. As state senator, Roberto Reveles said he plans to bring moderation and his experience in advocacy, critical analysis, public policy and helping other officeholders.

Plus, in local sports, the Florence baseball team is back in action, hoping this year will yield better results then last season. Despite a stacked region, Gophers head coach J.T. Neal is confident in his team’s chances of making some noise in 2024. Check out the full season preview here.
