Client is uninsurable —- are they really??
Good morning Peter,
I want to share with you a recent success one of our Agents experienced when finding coverage options for their client.
The Agent came to us with a client who unfortunately had quite an extensive medical history. So here at UMS, we worked with the Agent to get the appropriate health questionnaires completed. To the Agents (and the client’s) credit, they were both very diligent in completing these questionnaires, giving us as much info as possible.
After compiling the questionnaires, our case manager sent up a preliminary risk assessment along with a summary of the client to a dozen or more insurance carriers. And after a few days we had better idea of where the client may potentially fall in terms of rating for the life insurance they were looking for.
Depending on carrier, that preliminary rating was anywhere between a Table F (6) and Table (10). After reviewing the information with the Agent, we developed some potential solutions with the info provided, the Agent made their presentation. Highlighting the fact that there were preliminary and subject to full UW records. But given the info provided, there would be limited surprises as to the premium the client could expect.
Fast forward through the underwriting process – not only was the client approved….. but THEY WERE APPROVED 2 TABLES BELOW THE PRELIMINARY FINDINGS!!! This saved the client about 65 dollars a month, and more importantly, in their eyes, solidified the value and relationship with the Agent.
The point of this story – you never know.
