During your Memorial Day celebrations, keep all of the brave soldiers that have fallen in the line of duty in your hearts. They are heroes in heaven now, but we will always remember their unselfish sacrifice. Also pray for those in the military still today; may God protect them!

AZ GOP power grab bill HB2891. In HB2891, the AZ GOP attempt to add a budget item which would ensure that the Attorney General of the State is the “sole authority” on lawsuits regarding election laws and procedures. The AG would be the only person allowed to make “strategic decisions” regarding election litigation, completely shutting out the Secretary of State from any of these litigation discussions.
This is an attempt by Republicans to give the power to other Republicans and take authority away from everybody else. This is unacceptable, especially within our legislature, because giving power to certain people over others is not democracy.
SB1713, huge anti-voter bill, has FAILED! SB1713 would have made the voting process extremely complicated, especially for communities of color, Native voters, seniors and low-income voters. What the bill would have done was require all early ballots to include a date of birth plus either the last 4 digits of your social security number, an ID number, or voter registration number. Without these, your vote would not be counted. This would have heavily impacted the way Arizonans have voted forever, but thankfully, it failed in the House with every Democrat and two Republicans voting against it. HUGE news!
