In January, the Senate sidelined federal voting rights legislation that would have addressed state voter suppression laws that purposefully target people of color, people with disabilities, and poor people. Since then, states have continued to introduce and pass laws that make it harder for people to vote. No matter where you live, you can help in the fight to get voters to the polls and to repeal these shameful laws.

Join me next Tuesday, June 14th at 4pm PT/ 7pm ET for a discussion hosted by our partners at the Workers Circle. ASL and close captioning will be provided.

I will discuss the work we do at the Center for Common Ground and talk about how you can help combat suppressive voting laws while equipping voters with the information they need to surmount the barriers placed in their way! I will also talk about examples of good state legislation that protect the right to vote.

You can also make a year-end tax-deductible donation. Your donation can be designated to our scholarship program or special campus programs for athletics, the arts, or physical plant refurbishment.

The Alumni Association grants scholarships to college-bound students. We provide Grad Nite support, recognize prominent alumni, and co-sponsor Samohi’s annual career day. We also have an on-campus office. We provide mentors to help guide future graduates, accessing the immense knowledge of our members.
