PRESCOTT, AZ – The Biden regime’s immigration record has been an absolute failure since assuming office in January 2021.   While it was widely expected that this illegitimate regime would govern in an irresponsible manner, no one predicted the gross incompetence and destructiveness inflicted on our country in such a short time, particularly along our southern border.  Let’s review the destruction of our border over the past 11 months.

During fiscal years 2014 through 2019, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended 2.8 million illegal aliens between ports of entry along the Southwest Border and found an additional 725,000 aliens inadmissible at ports of entry.  Approximately eight percent of those resulted in an illegal alien being granted relief or protection from removal.  In other words, 92% of the illegal aliens were subject to deportation as they had no lawful basis to come into our country.  President Trump was actively working to deport illegal aliens who remained in the United States while focusing on building a wall along the border to stop further land invasions.

In a complete reversal of President Trump’s strong and effective immigration and border policies, 2021 has been an abject fiasco thanks to Joe Biden.  Mr. Biden has set records for allowing criminal illegal aliens into our country month after month.   In the last three months alone, more than a half million illegal aliens simply walked across our now open southern border, shattering the previous record over the similar three months in any previous year in the history of our great country.  As a result, there will be over 2,000,000 illegal aliens let in our country under Mr. Biden this year.  These are not records that anyone, certainly not the President of the United States, should be proud of.

This week, I voted against raising the debt ceiling another $2.5 trillion.

In the wee hours of this morning, so America couldn’t see this dastardly act, the United States House of Representatives voted to raise the debt ceiling by a whopping $2.5 trillion dollars, the single largest debt ceiling increase enacted by Congress.

Congress should not be hiking the debt ceiling one single penny. Democrats out-of-control spending is unsustainable.  We are already feeling the impact of record high inflation on everyday goods and services.  American families have spent $3500 more in 2021 to purchase the same goods and services as they did in both 2019 and 2020.  American workers have lost $377 a month in real wages since Mr. Biden took office.  The United States has the highest inflation than 35 other developed countries. That, my friends, is Bidenflation.

Newsflash: You can’t propose trillions of dollars in new spending and think it doesn’t spur inflation.  Simply issuing never-ending new debt to pay for existing debt is nonsensical and irresponsible.  I will not be party to the Democrats’ reckless policies.  There is no reason that we should be spending more money than we take it.  Raising the debt ceiling is irresponsible.  So, if the Democrats want to be on record making the biggest mistakes in America history, they can go it alone.

Last week, I shared with you a report published by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene detailing the appalling treatment of political prisoners held in detention facilities Washington, DC in relation to the events of January 6, 2021.  If you missed last week’s newsletter, you can read it here.

This week I joined Congresswoman Greene in demanding the immediate termination of Kathleen Landerkin, Deputy Warden of Operations at the D.C. Department of Corrections.  Unfortunately, Deputy Warden Landerkin has demonstrated a consistent pattern of disrespect for Members of Congress and fellow corrections staff, in addition to displaying a public animus toward anyone who supports President Trump. Following a thorough investigation of her social media statements, actions, and endorsements, we are convinced that Landerkin lacks the objectivity and professionalism required of a law enforcement officer charged with overseeing inmates detained in connection with the events of January 6.

Every Christmas season, on Wreaths Across America Day, thousands of grateful volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery, and other cemeteries across the country, place wreaths on the hundreds of thousands of graves to honor and respect our nation’s fallen heroes. Wreaths Across America Day is recognized this year on December 18^th.

Unfortunately, Mr. Biden’s woke Department of Veterans Affairs may no longer continue this beautiful tradition due to unsubstantiated attacks from anti-Christian groups criticizing the patriotic work of volunteers who lay these wreaths as “unconstitutional, an atrocity, and a disgrace.”  This is a disgusting sign of disrespect by individuals stomping on the memory of our fallen heroes.

In response, this week I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to Secretary of Veterans Affairs McDonough encouraging he continue to allow volunteers to lay wreaths as they have done for the last 29 years and to condemn those assaulting our collective honoring of our veterans.

Recent reporting seems to confirm what we feared: that almost none of the Afghan refugees were vetted before entering the country. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas has repeatedly dodged questions on this issue, including ignoring letters I have sent. Secretary Mayorkas was supposed to deliver a report on Afghan evacuees at the end of November, which he has refused. This week, I joined my colleagues on another letter demanding information on how many refuges were admitted into the country without being screened, whether any were denied admission, and whether any unvetted refugees are connected to crimes committed upon arrival.
