You read that right: MTG made an appearance with DePerno at Donald Trump’s Michigan rally last weekend, and it only took a few minutes for her speech to completely fall into dangerous territory. It seems like DePerno has a knack for bringing the worst people to Michigan.

MTG’s support of DePerno makes perfect sense – they have a lot in common! Both of them support Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election and hold dangerous views on abortion. We have to stop Matt DePerno from winning the Michigan AG office – a seat that helps oversee elections – and utilizing his office to become another Marjorie Taylor Greene. SCOTUS might come after our voting rights

Recent analysis by the Brennan Institute for Justice found the Voting Rights Act is at risk of being hollowed out, thanks to our current Supreme Court.

After chipping away at the Voting Rights Act in 2013 and 2021 decisions, the Supreme Court may now get rid of the VRA’s seminal protections against racial gerrymandering.

While such an outcome is as frustrating as it is challenging – we cannot relent in our fight for the right to vote.

With insufficient action at the federal level and an adversarial judiciary, the most effective way we can protect and expand our voting rights are at the state and local level.

USCIS Expands Premium Processing to Certain Form I-

140 Classifications

Dear Stakeholder,

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has been expanding premium processing in phases to certain pending Forms I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers under the EB-1 and EB-2 classifications. Recently, USCIS announced that you can file a premium processing request if you have a pending Form I-140 for the following classifications and filing dates:

E13 multinational executive or manager and the Form I-140 receipt date is on or before Jan. 1, 2022; and
E21 member of professions with advanced degrees or exceptional ability seeking a national interest waiver (NIW), and the Form I-140 receipt date is on or before Feb. 1, 2022.

USCIS will reject your premium processing request if your Form I-140 receipt date is after the date listed above. Additionally, USCIS is not accepting premium processing requests for new (initial) Forms I-140 in the E13 and E21 classifications at this time.

To request premium processing, you must file the current edition of Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, dated May 31, 2022. USCIS is no longer accepting previous editions of Form I-907.

Why This Matters

Many stakeholders have expressed a strong desire for expanded premium processing options. Since June, USCIS has expanded access to premium processing every month and generally moved the accepted Form I-140 receipt dates up by a few months at a time.

USCIS is expanding premium processing to additional form types in order to increase efficiency and reduce burdens to the overall legal immigration system. At the same time, pursuant to the Emergency Stopgap USCIS Stabilization Act, USCIS must ensure that implementation or expansion of premium processing does not result in an increase in processing times for immigration benefit requests not designated for premium processing. Therefore, USCIS has implemented the expansion of premium processing in a phased approach for Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers, Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, and Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

That’s why we’re proud to announce a new initiative that promotes Community, Acceptance, Renewal, Engagment, and Sustainability in our state. We call it Arizona Forward C.A.R.E.S. (AZ FWD CARES).

On Sunday, November 6th, AZ FWD CARES will be running (and walking) to support Ryan House, an in-patient palliative care unit, which aids adult and pediatric patients through Hospice of the Valley, a provider that has been serving Arizona for 45 years.

Tomorrow: Mobilizing Black Alabama Voters

Thursday, October 6th at 5pm PT| 8pm ET

Yesterday, the Supreme Court began hearing arguments in the Merrill vs. Milligan case, which could uphold Alabama’s racially discriminatory congressional map and undermine the Voting Rights Act.

What’s at stake with this case only emphasizes how important it is for us to mobilize Black voters in Alabama this fall so they can elect members in office that represent their issues.

Tomorrow, October 6th: Join leaders of the Alabama Democracy Center Coalition, Douglas Bonner, E.C. Rentz, and Karen Stanley, who are working to mobilize Black voters across the state this fall.
