Inflation Continues to Crush Americans

This week, the Biden administration announced that inflation rose to 8.2% in September compared to just one year ago thanks in large part to the reckless spending by Joe Biden and democrats in congress.  This is the 17^th straight month in which Bidenflation has been 5% or above.  Adding insult to injury, wages, declined by 3% in September when adjusted for inflation. Who can forget last July 2021 when Joe Biden declared: “There’s nobody suggesting there’s unchecked inflation on the way.”  Lies.  Always lies from this buffoon.  Rising prices for just about everything are crushing Americans.  Wait, I thought when Congress passed the fake “Inflation Reduction Act” back in August that inflation would decrease – at least that is what Biden promised.  More lies.  Faithful Gosar Newsletter readers will appreciate being reminded that I voted against it.  The fact is, Biden’s relentless attack on working-class Americans is showing no signs of slowing down and congress voted to spend three quarters of a billion dollars more to make it worse.  This is terrible news for seniors and working families.  An article this week by CNBC notes that a quarter of all Americans are expecting to delay retirement because their retirement savings have been wiped out by the 40-year high Bidenflation. Guess what’s coming next?  Another interest rate increase.

Leftists Love to Politicize Tragedies

Rahm Emanuel, then Chief of Staff to President Obama once famously quipped: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”  The democrats’ latest example of applying the “Rahm Rule,” (as it has become known as) is their effort to politicize the heartbreaking devastation in Florida recently caused by Hurricane Ian.  Hurricanes have been documented in Florida for hundreds of years going back to the 1500’s.  Many on the left, including CNN’s goofy Don Lemon, saw fit to politicize the storm by blaming the hurricane on climate change.

Linking climate change to any one event, such as a hurricane, is asinine even for someone like low-IQ Don Lemon.  Here is a Gosar newsflash:  the global climate has been changing, and going through cycles, for thousands of years.  This is not contested by scientists.

Even NOAA’s very own senior scientist Tom Knutson disagreed with the lying media and climate alarmists by recently noting that “it is premature to conclude with high confidence that human-caused increases in greenhouse gases have caused a change in the past Atlantic basin hurricane activity that is outside the range of natural variability.”

In other words, hurricanes have been happening for centuries. There have been worse ones, including Andrew, Charlie and Katrina, and there have been others less severe.  To my friends on the left: let’s stop politicizing every tragedy and let’s get one thing straight: floods, fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and droughts have a long history.  As old as our world.  Your car and your steak dinner did nothing to change that.

Why a Social Security Roundtable? As mentioned above, Bidenflation has ravaged America since 2021as a result of the change in policies pushed by Biden and the radicals in congress.  Unfortunately, these reckless policies have hit Arizona the hardest.  Arizona has a large percentage of retirees.  Inflation risks severe harm to their ability to maintain their lifestyle.

Because of raging inflation, the 2023 cost of living adjustment (COLA) of 8.7% is the highest since the current automated formula was put in place in 1983. While this necessary bump will help seniors going forward, seniors have already been facing, and will continue to face these sky-high prices.  Additionally, the high COLA could push many seniors whose benefits weren’t previously subject to taxation to pay taxes on their benefits for the first time and saddle others with a higher tax bill.

I’d like to hear your views.  I have a bill in congress to eliminate taxes on social security benefits, and am working on another a bill to eliminate the cap on outside income for social security recipients.  If passed, this will provide substantial economic relief to social security recipients. 

In my view, our efforts should focus on those who have worked hard their entire lives, paid their taxes and honored their country.  Instead, the Biden Regime has unilaterally, without congressional support, attempted to “forgive” student loans for people who received worthless degrees at overpriced universities.   Biden’s plan will erase up to $20,000 in student debt at a cost to you and me of $519 billion.  Then, there is the over $80 billion being wasted in Ukraine.  Shifting worthless student loan debt on to the rest of us is unfair and immoral.  Sending billions to promote war between nations is also immoral.  Let’s deal with the inflation here in this country and help our people.

Gosar Demands Answers from DOJ for Targeting Christians

The recent investigations into pro-life Americans is the latest example of the continued politicization of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Just last week, the FBI indicted 11 pro-life activists for engaging in non-violent civil protests.  Last month, the FBI sent more than twenty agents to the house of a pro-life activist and put him in shackles in front of his stunned family for allegedly pushing a man who was harassing his son in front of an abortion clinic.  The FBI is invoking an obscure law, called the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which forbids people from blocking access to abortion clinics and prevents the restriction of people seeking to exercise their right to “religious freedom.” This outrageous, unnecessary, and excessive use of force has become all too typical for the Biden police state.  In response to these latest examples of overzealous prosecutions, I sent a letter this week to FBI Director Wray demanding a briefing.

Americans are tired of the two-tiered justice system and these abuses of federal power against pro-life Americans undermines the American people’s trust in the FBI.  This is particularly true since there have been no reported FBI investigations in relation to the more than 72 pregnancy resource centers and Catholic churches that have been attacked by domestic terrorists since the Supreme Court rightfully overturned Roe v. Wade.  We must get rid of the leadership of the corrupt federal law enforcement and start again.

I’m sure you are aware of Kamala’s views of stopping veteran retirement, and instead giving it to illegal immigrants. I feel bad for the immigrants, but if I travel to another country, I am required to get the passport and all needed red tape, so why should they receive special treatment with money that we don’t get when we travel abroad! In fact, this is discrimination, because Americans are required to do the paperwork and red tape, and they should too. What the heck?? What can we do about this? What country uses veterans, ruins their lives, and tosses them? THIS VP does not look and sound like an American!  I’m so stressed every day dealing with the “aftermath” of covid. I can’t imagine what your job would do to me! I am very thankful that someone like YOU has my back!

Thanks for the guts to say the US has no reason to be funding Ukraine. It seems war hysteria is always popular in the US. We don’t need to be funding neo-Nazis in Ukraine. The country has zero importance to the US and what we are doing there is counterproductive to the long-term interests of the US and the world. Instead of working on peace the Biden administration is doubling down on wars.

Dear Sandy and Jim – all Americans are paying the price for Biden’s reckless policies and our veterans are certainly no exception.  It is appalling to me that Biden has sent billions of dollars to help Ukraine fight a war yet veterans right here in America suffer from homelessness, unemployment and many medical challenges.  It’s long past time we take care of our own people, especially our deserving veterans.

I appreciate all you are doing for Arizona and America.  Among other things, you are working to rein in Big Tech. Have you seen this move by PayPal, which I find hard to believe: “New PayPal Policy Lets Company Pull $2,500 From Users’ Accounts If They Promote ‘Misinformation’”

Dear Jim – Free speech is a bedrock of the United States, but the overwhelmingly left-leaning Big Tech companies have taken that right away from Americans by policing speech they disagree with.  PayPal is just the latest example.  I have been an outspoken critic of Big Tech’s abusive powers and have introduced legislation that would put power back in the hands of the people instead of the Big Tech billionaires whose totalitarian ambitions are crystal clear.

On the other hand, Christy W. from Yuma offers this dissent:

Once again you have appalled me with your unmitigated hypocrisy. You worked hard to roadblock the passage of the infrastructure bill simply because it was a Democratic Administration proposal. Now you are writing multiple letters begging for money from the same bill that voted against. You are the poster child of hypocrisy. I’m so embarrassed to have as my representative.

Christy – I strongly support infrastructure improvements and will always and unapologetically fight to make sure my constituents get the resources and funds needed to improve our roads, bridges, airport and highways.  The problem with nearly all of these enormous spending bills is that they include billions of extemporaneous dollars to fund the left’s radical social programs that I simply will not support.
