With Respect, Honor and Gratitude!

In observance of Veterans Day, this week I had the honor of attending the Pebble Creek Veterans Day Program to present the 2022 Veteran of the Year Award to Army Veteran Kurt Junge.  It was a thrill to present Kurt with an American flag flown over the Capitol, a Congressional Certificate of Recognition and a challenge coin. Have a blessed and peaceful Veterans Day especially to all our military veterans who selflessly served our country!

Lyin’ Joe Biden

Last week, I shared how Mr. Biden falsely claimed Congress passed a bill forgiving student loan debt and fibbed that the price of a gallon of gasoline was down from over $5 when he took office.  Both lies.  If you missed last week’s newsletter, don’t panic!  Here it is.  No surprise, because with each passing week it seems Lyin’ Joe lies again and again.

This week, Joe Biden was back at it with more preposterous lies.  On Tuesday, Biden claimed that he spoke to the man who invented insulin.  SPOILER ALERT, JOE: man did not invent insulin! It is a hormone produced inside the pancreas. The hormone insulin is made in the beta cells, which are part of the Islets of Langerhans. Duh!  It is true that insulin was discovered by Dr. Frederick Banting and professor John James Richard Mcleod, however both men died before ol’ fossil Joe Biden was even born.

If that wasn’t bad enough, on Wednesday, Biden tweeted the ridiculous claim that “Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership.”  Oops.  Not only is it pathetic political pandering, but it is also simply not true.  Seniors will receive an annual cost of living adjustment based on the inflation rate.  President Nixon, not Joe Biden, signed into law the automatic adjustments.  In an act of shame, the White House was forced to pull the tweet down after it was deemed to be false and widespread criticism.

Facts are stubborn things, Mr. Biden!

Speaking of Lies…

Biden and democrats love to lie about social security.  Not one Republican has a bill to cut benefits.  In fact some Republicans, like me, have legislation to increase benefits.

The decision by Congress to tax Social Security benefits in 1983 has been a public policy disaster from the beginning. Not only has it deprived America’s senior citizens of benefits which they rightfully earned after a lifetime of hard work and paying into Social Security, but its failure to account for inflation means senior citizens are subject to an annual tax hike.

The Social Security Administration now estimates that 56% of recipients pay income taxes on their benefits. It makes no sense for the federal government to punish senior citizens who saved for retirement or who continue to work. This merely increases the scope of the federal government and deprives Americans of what they are rightfully entitled to.

Congress also failed to account for inflation on the tax threshold. Originally, only one in ten recipients paid taxes on benefits. Failure to account for inflation has subjected more and more Americans to taxable benefits, equating to an annual tax increase on senior citizens.

That is why I introduced H.R. 4453, the No Tax on Social Security Act. This much needed legislation corrects the nearly four-decade old mistake previously made by Congress and restores full social security benefits to America’s senior citizens by changing current tax policies to exclude those benefits from annual gross income and federal taxation, ensuring recipients receive the totality of benefits they rightly deserve.

Fixing social security’s tax burden should be a bi-partisan solution.  Congress must work together to address this long overdue problem and make sure people receiving social security receive their full benefit.  At some point our people have paid enough taxes over their lives and seniors deserve their money!

Biden Hate Speech 2.0

In another hate filled prime time speech, Joe Biden once again desperately tried to rally leftist voters by blaming Republicans for the cause of political violence while remaining completely silent regarding these recent attacks on Republicans:

• Republican Congressman Steve Scalise shot and nearly killed by a democrat Senator Bernie Sander’s supporter.
• The attempted stabbing of Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin by a democrat supporter.
• A volunteer from Republican Senator Marco Rubio beaten by four individuals that told him Republicans were not allowed in their neighborhood.
• The attempted assassination of United States Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh by an individual intolerant of Republicans.
• The 18-year-old Republican teenager that was run over and killed by a lunatic who hates Republicans.
• Democrat Congressman Tim Ryan telling Americans to “kill and confront” the America First movement of the Republican party.
• Speaker Pelosi threatening to punch President Trump.
• The gunman who opened fire on the home a Republican congressional candidate Pat Harrigan, the bullet hitting a few feet from where his children were sleeping, after his address was given out by democrat congressional candidate Jeff Jackson.

There is absolutely no room for violence, and I ask that everyone join me in praying that God heals our land from the chaos and division.

Federal Reserve Hikes Interest Rate Again

This week, the Fed increased interest rates for the fourth time this year hoping curb run-away Bidenflation.  What does that mean?  In a nutshell, the borrowing rate continues to climb and it is now the highest it’s been since 2008.  That translates to higher home mortgage rates, increased cost for car loans and higher interest rates charged by credit card companies, to name a just a few.   Despite the recent actions by the Fed, Bidenflation shows no sign of slowing in large part because government spending is out of control.   But don’t take it from me, just before hiking rates on Wednesday, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell offered this gloomy outlook:

Inflation numbers “do suggest to me that we may move to a higher level than we thought,” adding that “there’s no sense that inflation is coming down.”

Biden’s agenda has wreaked havoc on families trying to get by.  If you happened to recently review your Thrift Savings Plan or your 401k retirement plan, I feel your pain!

It’s Mail Time!

The war that Russia has started will be finished by the people of Ukraine. Vladimir Putin underestimated the resolve of the Ukraine people to hold on to their country. Yes, you are so correct, the soldiers are being used as cannon fodder. This is sad for the Russians knowing very well that their sons will not return home to their mothers loving arms.

What we are seeing is a new style of war with the use of drones. How this will play out is anyone’s guess but it does seem to be one that is changing the face of war as we know it.

The Russian armament is no match for the western arms that we are supplying to the Ukraine army. This is testing our equipment in ways that mock war battles could not foresee. The Russian equipment is breaking down or being disabled by their own soldiers as they do not want to die in a war that was started for the wrong reason.

What about the feckless UN? Where are they in all of this? All talk and no action. Why do we pay millions to support something that clearly isn’t working ? What happened to the UN Peace Keeping Forces?

Two points…We need to be watching the Chinese and North Korean’s involvement in this war. At what point will China take steps to take over Taiwan? What will our response be? I say it needs to be swift and devastating. We have the subs to take out their ships. We have the AF to take out their planes.

Little fat boy in NK needs to be told that if he launches one nuke missile it will be such they will never see the sun rise.

Dear Julia, Chris and Milos –  thank you for sharing your thoughts.   It is unfortunate that any neutral voice, including my voice, is accused of being a paid agent of one side or another.  I have been very clear:  my loyalty is to America and Americans first.    Defending Ukraine’s border is not our problem when our border is wide open.  I don’t know any Russians or Ukrainians.   This is about the U.S. and world peace.  There have been 17 votes in Congress that have exacerbated or funded the war in Ukraine, and I have voted against every one of them. But there are folks making a lot of money on the war.  Because of that, they need to condemn people like me.
