The economy is showing signs of strain, retirement accounts are plunging in value, and companies are already raising costs to deal with Trump’s damaging waves of on-again, off-again tariffs. What was Trump’s response to the economic pain he’s causing us?

While Trump delayed drastically high tariffs on many countries for a few weeks, the chaos and confusion we saw this week isn’t going to end, and we can expect more economic whiplash if they go back into effect.

People want their elected officials to deliver on policies that make their lives better. Folks are already struggling to afford rent, feed their families, and pay for health care. Donald Trump’s tariff shenanigans will do nothing to alleviate the stress ordinary Americans are feeling.

In the last couple of decades, Democrats have had to save our economy from the destruction and chaos left behind by Republican presidents, and this disaster is going to be no different. Working families need real help, not economic sabotage.

Right now, I’m working with my colleagues to tackle the real issues head-on while exposing the devastating consequences of Trump’s ego-driven trade wars. While families stretch every dollar, he’s pushing policies that do nothing but deepen the pain.

These costly policies aren’t just headlines: they’re hurting our farmers and ranchers, small businesses, and working families. His tariff disaster won’t fix a thing – it’ll jack up prices and make everyday life harder for millions of Americans. I won’t stand by while Trump gambles with our economy.
