Here is ONE FOR HISTORY BUFFS THAT I BET YOU DID NOT KNOW In 1975, President Ford was left to manage the difficult ending of the Vietnam War. President Ford went to Congress for a relief package to allow American personnel and our allies to evacuate. However, there was ONE US SENATOR who opposed any such support. 

 

The result was the embarrassing and hurried evacuation from the roof of the American embassy in Saigon This senator reveled in the embarrassment and did everything he could to leverage it politically against Ford. Despite the efforts of this U.S. Senator–President Ford managed to rescue 1,500 South Vietnamese allies prior to the country’s fall. 

 

Had President Ford not acted quickly, these people would have been targeted and slaughtered for their support for America . When they arrived in America , President Ford asked Congress for a package to assist these refugees to integrate into American society. 

 

That SAME troublesome SENATOR TORPEDOED ANY SUPPORT for these shell shocked, anti-communist, Americans and our helpers, the refugees. Instead, President Ford had to recruit Christian organizations to offer assistance on a voluntary basis. As he did so, the Senator belittled those efforts. 

 

What kind of person would oppose President Ford’s tireless work to do the right and humanitarian thing? Who would want to play politics with the well-being of innocent people who stood by America in the tragic Vietnam War? Gosar Introduces Legislation to Prevent Taliban from Profiting Off Minerals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) issued the following statement after introducing H.R. 5088 Stopping Terrorist Minerals Trade Act, legislation that would prohibit minerals or products made with minerals from Afghanistan to be imported to the United States. Original cosponsors include Natural Resources Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (AR-3) and Energy and Mineral Resources Ranking Member Peter Stauber (MN-8).

“For two decades, nearly $90 million of American taxpayers’ money was spent on Afghanistan mineral exploration and mapping through the United States Geologic Survey (USGS).  

Now those resources are falling into the hands of the Taliban regime, and we cannot allow the development of those resources to enrich terrorists.  This bill will ban minerals and products made with minerals from Afghanistan, and other nations that support the Taliban, from being imported to America as long as the terrorists continue to hold and control Afghanistan,” concluded Congressman Gosar.

“While our first priority needs to be getting every American and our allies out of Afghanistan safely and quickly, we also cannot overlook the significant geopolitical implications of President Biden’s botched withdrawal. USGS estimates show Afghanistan is home to vast stores of copper, iron ore, and critical minerals such as lithium that have critical renewable energy development and national defense applications. The Biden administration claims they have accounted for every contingency, but as of yet we have heard no plans for safeguarding the country’s abundant natural resources against exploitation by our adversaries. Letting these critical minerals fall easily into the hands of the Taliban or the Chinese Communist Party is irresponsible and dangerous to our long-term security. Mr. Gosar’s bill will prevent the U.S. from playing into their hand, and keep our supply chain operating securely in the future,” said House Committee on Natural Resources Ranking Member Bruce Westerman.

BACKGROUND 

Research conducted in Afghanistan by the USGS has produced detailed maps and studies showing that Afghanistan sits on more than a trillion dollars in critical minerals, from copper, gold, and silver to lithium and critical rare earth elements.  The USGS work was to support the diversification of the Afghan economy and the people of a peaceful Afghanistan, not enrich the Taliban.  The “Stopping Terrorist Minerals Trade Act” would prohibit the trade in minerals from Afghanistan and would require clear documentation by any importer from countries that do business with Afghanistan.

Rep. Cori Bush

Fellow American, 

Have you heard about Rep. Cori Bush? The extremist member of Congress who said that the 4th of July is only for White Americans. 

Cori Bush, the extremist member of Congress who vocally advocates for the defunding of police departments across the country, but recently spent $70,000 of taxpayer money on private security.

Cori Bush, the extremist member of Congress who implies, daily, that Republicans are white supremacists hell-bent on suppressing anyone who isn’t a white man from voting. 

Recently, she threatened my life live on CNN. 

You see, the governor of Missouri issued my wife Patty and I unconditional pardons last week for protecting our St. Louis area home last summer as Black Lives Matter protesters descended upon our property and threatened to burn our home, kill our dog. Ms. Bush was one of the leaders of this protest, so you might say she has it out for me. 

Well, my pardon didn’t sit well with her. She called me an “absolute liar,” and informed me on live TV that “my day will come.” 

I’m calling for an investigation into Cori Bush’s threatening statements against me and my family, and I hope you’ll show your support for action to be taken against extremists who think the rules don’t apply to them.

Many years ago, a kid from the small town of Wrightsville, Georgia, started down the path to achieve the American Dream. 

He worked extremely hard, put his faith in God, and never gave up when the going got tough. That kid went on to win the Heisman Trophy in college football and set records as a running back in the National Football League.

Today, I officially launched my campaign for the United States Senate – and I want to tell you why I am running.

From my family and community, I learned the value of hard work. From competing in sports, I learned about teamwork and determination. My family taught me it doesn’t matter where you come from or the color of your skin. If you make sacrifices and put in the work, you can achieve your dreams. 

But over the years, I learned that politicians in Washington are more concerned with pitting us against each other than finding common ground. 

It’s time for that to change.
