How to Save on Holiday Travel We’re kind of obsessed with deals. And as you start thinking about travel for the holidays, we’ve put together 6 tips and tricks to get you on the road with a few extra bucks in your pocket. When to book is as important as where to book.#1Ticket prices are typically their lowest on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So if you can, book on one of these days. Why are ticket prices cheaper on those days? Maybe the airlines just have a case of the Mondays… and Thursdays through Sundays. #2The closer to your travel date, the higher the price gets. You can pack at the last minute, but the sweet spot to save is to book six weeks before you go. And to avoid a sprint through the terminal, get to the airport at least an hour before your flight leaves. #3Don’t fly with the flock. If you can, book during off peak times, like super early in the morning or on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, instead of the Sunday. There’s more to a deal than getting the lowest price. Even if you can’t find a low fare, Honey can help you stack rewards that are more substantive than a tiny bag of peanuts. #1Use the right card. Depending upon the airline you fly, the right credit card can earn you double or even triple miles. #2Stay loyal! Most airlines, hotel chains, and rental car companies have loyalty programs that reward you with points usable for upgrades and other free stuff. If they’re offering you free stuff for joining their loyalty programs, we recommend doing it. #3Get rewards from Honey. When you push the Honey button while you’re booking online, you can earn rewards you can redeem for cash. Use it for an extra piña colada on the beach or hot cocoa on the slopes. Or vice versa. Travel deals from merchants we love Earn generous rewards when you book your holiday travel plans with these partners.
