To add insult to injury — on the same week of the three year anniversary of the decision to overturn Roe — the Supreme Court handed down a disastrous decision which would prevent Medicaid patients in South Carolina from accessing Planned Parenthood’s critical services. This decision could open the door for other states to do the same.

Tell your senators to save Medicaid for millions of people before it’s too late!

Here’s what you need to know about this disastrous court ruling and attacks on Medicaid in Congress:

What did SCOTUS do? SCOTUS opened the door for states to prohibit Medicaid patients from accessing Planned Parenthood and other qualified health care providers.

What does the decision mean? A state may block people who rely on their state’s Medicaid program from receiving essential health care from Planned Parenthood, such as birth control, cancer screenings, or STI testing.

Why is this bad? It cannot be overstated: Planned Parenthood is often the only accessible health clinic for people in rural areas and health care deserts, many of whom are covered by their state’s Medicaid program. With this decision, people will face even more obstacles to get the care they need, all because a state’s politicians object to the fact that Planned Parenthood provides abortion care.

What’s happening on the federal level? Medicaid is essential to the health and economic security of over 70 million people, including pregnant women, children, people with disabilities, people with low-comes and older adults. Yet, access to Medicaid is also currently being threatened in Congress by the Republican budget bill, which will leave millions uninsured and cause thousands of preventable deaths.

What can I do? Medicaid, Planned Parenthood, and our health care are being relentlessly attacked in Congress and the courts but you can help! Tell your senators to save Medicaid for millions of people before it’s too late!

A note from the designer of The Hook-On Chair

Hi Peter,

Nice to meet you, I’m Lalo’s Head of Product Design, but most importantly, I’m mom to two delicious boys. I am so excited that The Hook-On Chair is finally here; it’s one of my favorite products I’ve worked on. It’s a product I relied on heavily when my boys were a bit younger, and it’s been incredible to see how many of you have been begging for us to make one for years.

In true Lalo fashion, for this product, we took aesthetic inspiration from the world of interiors and fashion, and also took functional tips from experts and our parent community to make sure this product came to life with plenty of purpose, value, and, of course, top-notch safety.

We infused simple innovations like a first-of-its-kind adjustable footrest for a hook-on high chair, and a flexible gap-free tray made of FDA-grade silicone that’s, of course, dishwasher safe. And we know mealtime is (perhaps) the messiest time, so the fabric is fully removable to throw in a washing machine. Lastly, it comes with a carry bag and folds down without full disassembly to make it easy if you’re taking it on the go.

Rj, happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

I’m Angie Craig. I’m a Minnesotan, a wife, a mom and Mimi (grandmother), a WNBA fan and a beer-lover.

I’d also be the first lesbian mom elected to the U.S. Senate.

It wasn’t that long ago that being an out lesbian would make it almost impossible to run for office. Growing up as a teenager in the 1980s, I never could have imagined that I’d be elected to Congress (let alone be a candidate for Senate!).

Donald Trump wants to take us back to those times. Like hell he will, if I have anything to say about it.

So Rj, I’m coming to you with an important request: Will you celebrate Pride Month by splitting $10 between Mikie Sherrill and my historic campaign for U.S. Senate and defeat the GOP opposition that aims to strip away our rights?

Pride has always been a special time for me and my family, Rj.

My wife Cheryl and I love marching in our local Pride parade each year — but Pride is more than just a celebration. It’s a time to reflect on the strides we’ve made to be able to live freely and authentically — and to demand more from our leaders.

The first Pride — following the Stonewall riots of 1969 — was a protest in response to the government’s anti-LGBTQ+ policies. We should never lose sight of that.

The Trump administration is going after the LGBTQ+ community nonstop. Lord knows we need to stand up for our rights now more than ever.

I’m running for U.S. Senate to be a fierce defender of LGBTQ+ folks and to fight against the GOP’s harmful policies — from targeting marriage equality to passing bathroom bills and book bans.

Today marks the third anniversary of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) — a historic moment when federal lawmakers from both sides of the aisle came together with a shared goal: making our communities safer and our young people stronger.

This law was a breakthrough. It expanded access to mental health care, especially for students in school.

Thanks to the BSCA, we’ve made tremendous progress — helping communities nationwide increase access to school-based services, grow the mental health workforce, and strengthen local capacity for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

But now? That progress is at risk due to cuts in grant funding from the Department of Education.

Nearly two months ago, the U.S. Department of Education announced it would not renew grants – totaling about $800 million to current grantees — which will leave schools scrambling to provide mental health services to students.

We can’t let that happen. We’ve brought leaders together before who agreed that every young person deserves access to the tools and support they need to thrive, and we can do it again!

We can’t let up on the promise of the BSCA or abandon its principles. Investing in early mental health support isn’t just smart policy — it’s how we build safer schools, healthier communities, and a brighter future for all.

The Center for Common Ground has been a driving force in mobilizing Black voters in Southern states, and we’re proud to announce a new partnership that will amplify our efforts to protect democracy.

We are partnering with the Tim Carpenter Institute, named after one of my mentors. The Tim Carpenter Institute studies the distribution of economic and political power in society and strategies for building more equitable and democratic societies. It is committed to making all of its findings available and understandable to the broad public.

Their Voters Calendar/Democracy Defenders project is designed to alert the American public to changes in voting rules and regulations and disseminate studies from America and around the world about ways to strengthen democracy in the 21st Century.

Together, we will expand our outreach from primarily the Southeast to the Midwest and beyond.
