Here are just some of the events on this date in the past.

•	On this day in 1928: American aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger. Earhart later became the first woman – and the second person – to pilot an aircraft nonstop and solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
•	In 1945: New York native William Joyce, a fascist broadcaster known as “Lord Haw-Haw” who early on moved to Ireland then defected to Germany just before World War II, was charged with treason after Victory in Europe Day for his pro-Nazi propaganda over the U.K. airwaves that was heard by millions. After conviction, Joyce died by hanging in prison in January 1946.
•	In 1948: Columbia Records released the first 33 1/3-RPM vinyl record that became the industry standard. The first LP, initially a Columbia trademark, was early Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto in E Minor.”
•	In 1981: The U.S. Air Force made the maiden flight of the F-117 Nighthawk, the world’s first operational stealth aircraft, designed to evade radar. The Air Force first used the Lockheed-made fighter jet for combat in Panama eight years later, and the aircraft were widely successful in missions during the Gulf War of 1990-91.
•	In 1983: NASA astronaut Sally Ride became the first American woman in space for a six-day mission that included her and four Space Shuttle Challenger STS-7 crewmates deploying two satellites and performing multiple science experiments.
•	In 2006: The Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori became the first female bishop to lead the U.S. Episcopal Church.

Unfortunately, the surgery had to be delayed because there wasn’t enough money for it!

Now she is at home desperately waiting for enough funds to be raised to cover the procedure and treatment. The longer she waits, the worse her condition gets!

Chanel Racheli, a 13-year-old girl, is facing a tough battle for her health. She’s currently in the USA with her mom, receiving treatment at a hospital in Philadelphia. Doctors are working hard to prepare her for a complicated surgery. They’ve done thorough tests to understand her condition better. Chanel is really tired from all the tests and treatments. Her mom stays by her side, praying for her recovery.

Unfortunately, the surgery had to be delayed because there isn’t enough money for it. Chanel’s parents had to break the news to her. She’s been waiting for this surgery for months, hoping it will improve her health. But without enough funds, the hospital can’t schedule it.

Chanel was born with a rare condition called a double diaphragm, which affects her kidneys. Her left kidney doesn’t work at all, and her right one is only at 60%. Without treatment, she’ll need even more serious medical care soon. Her condition makes her afraid to eat or drink much, leading to an eating disorder.

Her family is struggling to cover the costs of her treatment. They’ve managed to get some help from the health fund for psychiatric treatment, but it’s not enough. They need a lot more money for the surgery and ongoing care.

Chanel’s family is doing everything they can to support her. Her mom, despite being disabled herself, focuses all her energy on Chanel. Her dad takes care of the family and works hard to find ways to pay for Chanel’s treatment.

But they can’t do it alone. They’re asking for help from anyone who can donate. Even a small amount can make a big difference. Chanel just wants to be healthy and live a normal life like other kids her age. She’s pleading for help to make that happen.
