The Department of Homeland Securityannounced this week that it intends to cancel the remaining border wall contracts along the southern border. With stacks and stacks of border partitions and miles and miles of fiber optic wiring piled up along the border, the Biden administration is paying contractors $5 million a day to NOT build the border wall.
Meanwhile, 400,000 illegal aliens are expected to cross the southern border this month. This would be an unprecedented record and double the record set last month. We are on pace to have over TWO MILLION illegal immigrants apprehended while crossing the southern border in 2021. Another 400,000 are “gotaways.” Gotaways is a term used by Border Patrol agents to describe the number of illegals that cross the border and are not apprehended. The number of “gotaways” is likely much higher.
But that’s not all. Joe Biden is smearing our Border Patrol officials and it is disgusting. First, the Border Patrol was thrown under the bus recently by Mr. Biden falsely claiming they were whipping illegal Haitians in Del Rio, Texas. Now they are being told they are going to be fired if they don’t get vaccinated by November 1st. It’s horrific that Border Patrol agents, who have spent their careers protecting the border are being treated worse than the illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants crossing the border are not required to be vaccinated. They get an airline or bus ticket to go into the interior of our country, many with COVID, while our border agents get pink slips!
The Biden administration has opened our borders to criminals, drug traffickers and the entire third world. Only a president and a party that hates this country would take such illegal and immoral actions. It is estimated that as many as 35% of Border Patrol agents may be terminated because of Mr. Biden’s vaccine mandate. This risks reducing an already depleted Border Patrol workforce.
Joe Biden is an unmitigated embarrassment. He has never, not one single time, been to the border EVER. He is a failed President. I’ve called for his impeachment.
No More Automatic Citizenship
Besides Canada, the United States is the onlyother industrialized country that grants automatic citizenship to all children born in this country. That means children born to illegal immigrant parents in the United States are guaranteed U.S. Citizenship. This includes tourists passing through America. A pregnant tourist that gives birth here is giving birth to a “citizen.” Again, no other country has such a nonsensical law. Trust me. You can’t visit France and give birth to a new French citizen. Our policy on this is silly and harmful. Automatic citizenship has long served as incentive for illegal immigration. With an estimated two million illegal immigrants pouring across our southern border this year, including pregnant mothers, it is well past time that we end the misguided policy of birthright citizenship.
In response, I have cosponsored H.R. 140, the Birthright Citizenship Act. If passed, this legislation would amend the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act to prevent children born to illegal-alien parents in the United States from automatically receiving U.S. citizenship.
The Birthright Citizenship Act would restrict the granting of automatic citizenship to newborns who have at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. The legislation would also allow the granting of automatic citizenship to newborns who have at least one parent who is an alien serving the armed forces.

Concerned Parents are NOT Domestic Terrorists
This week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it has directed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to “investigate” threats of violence at school board meetings as possible acts of domestic violence. The real truth is that Joe Biden is now weaponizing the DOJ to go after parents that oppose the Far-Left Socialist Critical Race Theory he is attempting to impose on America’s children. Let me make this clear, according to Joe Biden, parents who advocate against CRT being taught in the classroom are now domestic terrorists. This is outrageous. These are concerned parents, and they have every right to be. CRT is not history. It’s a Marxist ideology meant to divide us. Parents are awake to this latest threat against their children and many are speaking up at school board meetings across the nation. In America, we do not label those who disagree with the government as domestic terrorists or extremists. That’s what happens in Communist China and Russia. In response, I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to Attorney General Garland demanding the Department of Justice not use the FBI to support this brazen misuse of law enforcement.

Gosar Leads Effort to Develop Veterans Retreat and Community Center
I recently introduced legislation to transfer 232 acres of federal Forest Service land to Gila County for the development of a veterans retreat and community center for the more than 5500 military veterans living in Gila County.
This currently underutilized Forest Service site is the perfect location for the community center for use as a gathering space for veterans and their families to host retreats, meetings and other events. The location would also serve as an area for mobile veterans’ clinic for veterans who cannot easily travel to a VA Medical Center.
Too often our communities that are landlocked by surrounding federal land have few opportunities to create these critically needed services. By working with the Forest Service and transferring these underutilized facilities to the county we are creating a win-win, a win for our veterans and a win for our local community.

Yuma Territorial Prison in Yuma, Arizona opened on July 1, 1876, and closed on September 15, 1909. During its time it housed over 3,000 men and over two dozen women for crimes ranging from murder to polygamy and adultery.
