Hungry residents looking to get their Whataburger fix will have to drive a little further down Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande. The old location near Peart Park served its last customer on Saturday and opened its brand new location further down the road.

In crime news, a Queen Creek woman has been indicted for allegedly assaulting a police officer. She had also been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly mistreating her dog. Also, a Casa Grande man has been charged for allegedly stealing catalytic converters to help fuel his drug habit.

In other legal news, a Yuma County Superior Court judge threw out a defamation lawsuit by state Rep. Mark Finchem, Congressman Paul Gosar and a former state legislator who claimed that former state Rep. Charlene Fernandez “smeared” their names.
