Georgia is a ray of sunshine. She loves gymnastics, pop songs, and making new friends. Though she has spent hundreds of days at Boston Children’s Hospital, including her fifth birthday, due to a rare intestinal disorder, she has never complained.
Each month, we have a goal to inspire 50 people to become monthly partners. This ensures that kids like Georgia can rely on us to get quality care without sacrificing their quality of life. For the month of January, we still need 23 more donors to sign up. To help us reach our goal, a generous donor offered to match the first three donations of every new monthly gift — which means you can double your impact through March!
The day after Georgia was born, she started showing signs of a bowel obstruction. Her parents brought her to Boston Children’s after struggling to find answers at other hospitals. Our experienced team was able to diagnose her rare intestinal disorder within days and fit her with a colostomy bag and feeding tube.
Since then, Georgia has had about 30 inpatient stays at Boston Children’s because a simple cold or stomach bug can trigger flare-ups. Her dedicated care team goes above and beyond to make every single stay bearable, especially on her birthday when they all wore matching oversized hair bows to celebrate.
Fortunately, Georgia’s health journey has not clouded her sunny disposition. She’s proud to be unique and happily shows people her colostomy bag, explaining why she has it.
