Voters will have a deep field of candidates to choose from for the Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board in November. There are five people running for two seats on the board and we’ve got interviews with all of them. We also interviewed several during our livestreamed candidate forum last night. And here’s a good news story to end the week on. A Maricopa man has helped a friend in Florida turn his hobby into a business. Lenny Abbott created his own hot pepper spice mixture a couple of years ago and Sean Mannello, who lives in Maricopa, has helped spread the wordwhile Abbott has fought cancer.

Five vehicles were involved in a pile-up at State Route 87 and North Kenworthy Road Tuesday morning. Despite one head-on collision into westbound traffic, no fatalities were reported.
