Flagstaff home sells for almost $7M
The Flagstaff home features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, multiple patios, floor-to-ceiling windows, a balcony with a built-in BBQ, three fireplaces, a finished basement, a large kitchen island and a firepit. It was constructed by Two Hawks Design & Development and designed by The Ranch Mine.

A new 5,900-square-foot home in Flagstaff’s Pine Canyon golf community sold the day it hit the market for $6.989 million, setting a new record for a house on a single lot in the northern Arizona city.
Here are just some of the historic events on this date in the past.

On this day in 1942: Anne Frank and her family went into hiding in Amsterdam to escape persecution by the Nazis. They lived in a concealed room behind a bookcase at the building in which her father, Otto Frank, used to work. Anne documented her life during their two years living in the annex in a journal, which would be published as “The Diary of a Young Girl.”

In 1944: A young Jackie Robinson, who would eventually become a baseball Hall of Famer who broke racial barriers, refused to give up his seat and move to the back of a military bus. He was court-martialed for his defiance.

In 1957: Tennis player Althea Gibson became the first Black woman to win Wimbledon, claiming the women’s singles title.

In 1976: 81 women made history as the U.S. Naval Academy inducted women for the first time.

In 1988: Explosions and fires rocked the Piper Alpha drilling platform in the North Sea, destroying it. In the resulting tragedy, 167 men died (30 bodies were never recovered) and about 730 tons of oil were spilled. It was one of the costliest human-made disasters ever.

In 1995: In what would become one of the worst genocides in Europe since World War II, Bosnian Serb forces began an attack on the Bosnyak ethnic groups in the towns of Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The resulting massacre killed more than 7,000 Bosnian Muslim boys and men.
