Former President Donald Trump is set to make his fifth trip to Arizona today, rallying supporters in the college town of Tempe less than two weeks before Election Day.

Trump is slated to speak at Mullett Arena on the Arizona State University campus.

Here are just some of the events on this date in the past.

•	On this day in 1901: Annie Edson Taylor, a 63-year-old schoolteacher from Bay City, Michigan, became the first person to survive a barrel ride over Niagara Falls. She designed and built her own barrel, which had cushions and a leather harness, and was screwed shut and pumped full of oxygen.
•	In 1929: The U.S. stock market experienced a significant crash, setting off several days of “panic selling” that led to a drastic fall in stock prices and marked the beginning of the Great Depression. The day is often referred to as “Black Thursday.”
•	In 1945: The United Nations was officially established after the U.N. Charter was ratified by the five permanent members of the Security Council – the United States, United Kingdom, France, Soviet Union and China – and the majority of the other signatories.
•	In 1956: The Suez Crisis, a conflict that had significant geopolitical ramifications, began when Israel – followed by the U.K. and France – invaded Egypt in an effort to oust Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser and regain control of the Suez Canal.
•	In 1973: The United Nations brokered a cease-fire between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria, essentially ending the Yom Kippur War.
•	In 2012: Hurricane Sandy intensified into a powerful storm that caused widespread destruction along the East Coast, particularly in New York and New Jersey, killing more than 200 people.

Maricopa County Attorney’s Office charged a teen with terrorism, saying he got materials for an explosive device to use on the Phoenix Pride Festival.
