This Week With Gosar Special Edition

WASHINGTON D.C. – Earlier this week, I sent a written response to the House Committee on Ethics regarding a reckless and frivolous complaint filed by liberal Washington Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal concerning the events of January 6, 2021.  

For more than three months, I have sat quietly while I have been baselessly attacked by the liberal media, Democrats and even some of my Republican colleagues alleging that I have somehow acted criminally, or against the country I love and protect.  

These attacks are ill-conceived, defamatory and patently false. 

On January 6, 2021 I determined to invoke the Electoral Count Act of 1887, and the 12^thAmendment to the United States Constitution, to object to the certification of Electors from Arizona.

This is neither calamitous nor unethical. Indeed, in 2016, Democrat Members of Congress invoked the same law to object to the certification of the 2016 Presidential election of Donald Trump.

The dishonesty of Ms. Jayapal is particularly rich, when she herself stood on the House Floor and called for an objection of President Trump’s certification in January 2017.

I have at all times conducted myself credibly and well within the acceptable norms of Congress. The assertion that I planned, created, assisted or otherwise participated in the riot on January 6 is malicious and patently false.

Gosar Refutes Bogus Story Claiming He Authored Document

The liberal media attack dogs are once again attempting to smear my name by implying I was the author of documents purporting to be the basis of a new Congressional caucus.  

Let me be perfectly clear, I did not author nor did I ever even see any documents that the media claims I wrote. In fact, I first became aware of their existence by reading about it in the news this week, just like you!  

Any allegation that I drafted or even reviewed documents or statements is 100% FALSE. 

Imagine my surprise to read I “wrote it.” Once again, I am the subject of a false media story.

I will continue to work on America First issues within the House Freedom Caucus. I will not let the lying media deter me from the America First work I have been championing for years in the House Freedom Caucus and with President Trump.
