Build a healthier salad
Sure, salads are typically healthy, but are you getting the most nutritional bang for your buck? Opt for dark greens such as spinach and kale, which are packed with folate — a B vitamin that promotes healthy blood circulation. Mix dark and lighter greens if you aren’t used to the taste and chop them finely.

Civil war in Syria has been raging for the past decade. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or are missing. More than 5 million have fled the country, and close to 7 million are internally displaced. They live in tents with little food, water, or electricity. Healthcare is difficult to find, though the need is great.
Samaritan’s Purse operates a medical clinic in a camp for displaced people, providing quality care at no charge for Syrian civilians who have been forced from their homes due to the war. PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE IN SYRIA

Your gift can go 2X as far to help end Alzheimer’s.Dear Friend,
“It was spring of 1992. That was the first time I heard the word Alzheimer’s.”
That’s what our generous match donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us when she made the incredible pledge to match every gift, up to $200,000, by September 15. Like the millions of Americans facing Alzheimer’s disease, our supporter and her sister had to come to grips with their mom’s diagnosis.
In honor of someone close to you, or on behalf of all those facing Alzheimer’s, I hope you’ll answer this match challenge by making your first gift today, while you can double your impact on our work to provide care and support for families like theirs — through our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), in-person consultations and more — and accelerate the research that can one day end Alzheimer’s.
Join us today while your gift, up to $200,000, can double in impact:
Thanks to the support of people like you, we continue to ensure that no one has to face Alzheimer’s alone. Our generous donor’s gift will help support our Global Innovation Fund to accelerate and expand promising Alzheimer’s research, while your gift will help provide care and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and accelerate global research progress toward new methods of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
Please make your first gift today, while it can go twice as far to further our missionas we lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Thank you for helping to drive our work to one day eliminate Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — and for offering help and hope to all affected by this devastating disease.
Sincerely,
Donna McCullough
Chief Field and Development Officer
P.S. Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest under-recognized public health crisis, killing more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. Please make your impact on our fight to end Alzheimer’s go 2X as far by giving today, during this special match challenge.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer’s care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
