The Alzheimer’s Association®
“If there’s a silver lining to this experience, it’s the compassionate support we received from the Alzheimer’s Association. I participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s so all families can receive help during their time of greatest need.”
-Herb M., Team Captain
Dear Friend,
My wife, Gail, was the brains of our family — earning straight A’s toward her master’s degree and changing lives as a speech pathologist. When she was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s in 2005, I was heartbroken. I knew the disease would slowly steal away my brilliant best friend.
The Alzheimer’s Association® was by our side, comforting and empowering us through every step of our difficult journey. The support group we attended was especially helpful, connecting us with other families who shared and understood our struggles. I also channelled my pain into purpose by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s® — honoring Gail while advancing the Association’s care, support and research efforts.
I’m looking forward to walking in person this year with friends and family. One of the most inspiring parts of Walk day is the Promise Garden ceremony, where everyone raises colorful flowers symbolizing their connection to the cause. These flowers have a lot of fight in them. Because, like flowers, Walk participants don’t stop when something’s in their way. We keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
On behalf of Gail and all those affected, I urge you to join me and add your flower to the fight. Register for Walk to End Alzheimer’s today.
Sincerely,
Herb M.
Team Captain

USCIS Removes Barriers to U.S. Citizenship for Children Born Abroad Through Assisted Reproductive Technology
Dear Stakeholder,
On August 5, 2021, USCIS updated guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual regarding children born outside of the United States and determining whether children born through assisted reproductive technology (ART) are considered to have been born “in wedlock.”
USCIS now considers a child to be born in wedlock when the child’s legal parents are married to one another at the time of birth and at least one of the legal parents has a genetic or gestational relationship to the child. USCIS defines “child” to include the child of a U.S. citizen parent who is married to the child’s genetic or legal gestational parent at the time of the child’s birth, if both parents are recognized by the relevant jurisdiction as the child’s legal parents.
Children who meet these requirements, and whose application for a Certificate of Citizenship has been previously denied, may file a motion to reopen or reconsider the denial decision on a Notice of Appeal or Motion (Form I-290B).

Wycliffe Associates
Blessings in the Name of our Lord Jesus! First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this important email.
We at Wycliffe Associates are trying to translate our resources for minority dialects and language translators who are spread throughout Cambodia and who know Khmer, so that they can use these materials, along with the Khmer Bible to translate a new Bible into their own mother tongue. What you would specifically be doing is translating biblical materials into Khmer so that we can get them to these people groups throughout Cambodia so that they can make a Bible into their own language for the very first time. We will be using the Khmer Bible for their source text, so there is no need for a new Khmer translation at this time.
How can you help us? We are looking for people who will donate a few hours a week of their spare time to help translate the resources I mentioned above into Khmer from English. By doing this you can help bring the life-saving message of our Lord Jesus Christ to them. We cannot do this work without people like yourself whom our heavenly Father has gifted with these two languages. We would love for you to be a part of this amazing ministry of helping to bring people to Christ. Your location has no bearing. You just need an internet connection and either a computer or tablet.
Please let me know if this is where you believe that our Lord is leading you to serve Him. I need a good phone number and best time to call and I will have someone get in touch with you to set up a meeting with our training team to get you started. If you know someone else who you think might be interested in this work, please feel free to forward this email to them.
Thank you once again and may our Lord Jesus bless you in all that you put your hands to in His name.

Do you need to eat more water?
Eat water? Let us explain. Vegetables and fruits are crucial to weight loss because they contain a lot of water, which provides volume and weight — causing you to feel full — but with fewer calories. For example, half a large grapefruit is 90% water with just 50 calories. This is why healthy eating allows you to eat more, but weigh less. Read on to learn how you can fill up with fewer calories.

Get results with interval training
You don’t have to be a serious athlete to try interval training. It’s simply alternating bursts of intense activity with intervals of lighter activity. For instance, you might alternate leisurely walking with periods of faster walking. If you want more of a challenge, incorporate short bursts of jogging into your regular brisk walks. Go ahead, pick up the pace!
Alzheimer’s
Limited Time: $200,000 Match ChallengeDear Friend,
The prevalence of Alzheimer’s is expected to grow dramatically in the coming years. But we’ll continue urgently fighting until the day we end this devastating thief of a disease — and this special $200,000 Match Challenge will strengthen that fight.
You still have time to double your impact on our work to provide care and support and accelerate global research. Can we count on you to join our movement with your gift NOW, before this incredible match opportunity ends on September 15, along with your chance to have your gift matched 2X?
Join us today while your gift, up to $200,000, can double in impact:
This exciting match challenge is made possible by a pledge from a generous donor who, while she wishes to remain anonymous, shared with us about the day her family received their late mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
“My sister and I were at our mom’s follow-up appointment for a previous visit concerning changes in her personality,” she said. “The doctor asked us, ‘Does anyone in your mother’s family have Alzheimer’s?’ I looked at my sister and asked the doctor, ‘What’s Alzheimer’s?’ He told us it was a type of dementia. Our mom was 65.”
For the millions facing Alzheimer’s — and with the hope of a future without this disease — our generous donor has chosen to support the Global Innovation Fund to accelerate and expand promising Alzheimer’s research. Your gift will support both advancing research and providing quality care and support for those facing Alzheimer’s — make your first gift now, while you can still double your impact and get us closer to our match goal.
Thank you for helping accelerate research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Your support is furthering our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. We’re so grateful.
Sincerely,
Donna McCullough
Chief Field and Development Officer
P.S. Breakthrough advancements and quality care and support can’t continue without your help. Please contribute today while your gift can go 2X as far in our fight toward ending Alzheimer’s.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer’s care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
