Today, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced, via the Federal
Register, the reopening of public comment periods for three proposed
listings:
1) The monarch butterfly (Seen locally)
2) Suckley’s cuckoo bumble bee (Last seen in Oregon in 2016)
3) bleached sandhill skipper (Only in Humboldt Co., NV)

The 60-day comment period will be open from March 19 – May 19, 2025 to
allow the public additional time to comment on the proposals.

I think the monarch butterfly and Suckley’s cuckoo bumble bee may be
of interest to you given their geographic range. The iconic monarch
butterfly is found throughout the lower continental United States,
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Suckley’s cuckoo bumble bee is endemic to portions of the Midwest,
West, Southwest (15 states), and Canada (11 Provinces).

new written comment during the reopened 60-day comment period starting
tomorrow, please visit www.regulations.gov and search docket numbers:
FWS-R3-ES-2024-0137 (monarch butterfly) and FWS–R7–ES–2024–0117
(Suckley’s cuckoo bumble bee).

Comments previously submitted need not be submitted again and will be
fully considered.
