Architect Joseph Emberton surely could not have predicted the legacy of terror he brought upon us back in 1930 when he designed the world’s first “ghost train” in Blackpool. Since then, these frightening fairground attractions have remained relatively unchanged, from the unnerving design to the menacing music and even the petrifying phantoms rumoured to haunt their carriages.

But don’t just take our word for it, see for yourself! For this year’s new Halloween card, we’re presenting you with a first-class ticket to the most terrifying train ride yet. Listen carefully and you might just hear the sinister screech of this ghoulish locomotive pulling into its next stop…
