The company is PowerBank (NASDAQ: SUUN) (CBOE CA: SUNN.NE), a North American developer and builder of solar and energy-storage infrastructure. 

They have spent years proving they can execute – real megawatts in the ground, real contracts, real revenue. 

And their latest move shows why that experience matters. 

PowerBank locked in key components of the specialized equipment required for 15 solar and storage projects across New York, representing 67 MW of solar capacity and 11 MWh of storage.

This was a strategic decision made at the moment when timing is everything. 

By acting now, these projects are expected to meet the IRS Physical Work Test.

That test determines whether a project qualifies under current federal rules for the 30% U.S. Investment Tax Credit. 

And because PowerBank moved before the deadline…  

These projects are also positioned to receive potential bonus adders –  

Additional tax credit percentages intended to reward projects that meet specific criteria such as domestic manufacturing, energy-community placement, or low-income access. 

Tax credits at this scale dramatically improve the economics of a project portfolio. 

They reduce capital burden, accelerate payback periods, and make each project stronger from day one. 

PowerBank estimates nearly US$65 million in federal incentives tied directly to this decision. 

The full construction value of the distributed solar and energy storage portfolio is roughly US$168 million. 

PowerBank is positioned to benefit in more ways than just one.

They can either complete the remaining financing and retain ownership of the projects and collect long-term returns… 

Or they can sell the rights and still capture the value of development, engineering, procurement, and construction. 

Either path creates revenue… 

Either path compounds strength… 

And either path came from acting early – while competitors were still waiting and wondering what they should do next. 

These projects also fit directly into New York’s aggressive buildout targets: expanding distributed solar from 6 GW to 10 GW and deploying 6 GW of energy storage by 2030. 

States with mandates this large need developers who can deliver, and PowerBank fits the bill perfectly.  

PowerBank has already completed 100+ MW and has a 1+ GW pipeline… 

100+ MW delivered means PowerBank has already executed projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars in combined infrastructure value.
