Bryan Bottarelli, Head Trade Tactician, Monument Traders Alliance
Dear Reader,
After a recent trip overseas, two things really stuck out to me….
First, if I were Nike #NKE, I’d be really worried about the competition from On Holding #ONON.
Their shoes are everywhere…
And I have to say, they’re as comfortable as advertised.
I bought the family 4 pairs for walking around town, and OMG!
Not even the most uneven cobblestone streets of Switzerland could bring us down.
After the close tomorrow, ONON will report results for the quarter ended June 2025. Wall Street expects a year-over-year increase in earnings on higher revenues – so it should be quite interesting to see the stock’s reaction.
In addition to ONON….
In the blink of an eye, every young person in the entire world seems to now own an expensive water bottle.
Have you noticed this?
It’s not only a US phenomenon. It’s global.
And this could soon provide a boost to names like Dicks Sporting Goods (DKS) and also Yeti (YETI).
For the bargain price of $65, you can now own a Yeti labeled 64-ounce rambler which a chug-cap that promises to keep our youth fully hydrated for hours on end – all while delivering ice-cold water out of the most expensive bottles I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.
Looking ahead, Yeti plans to launch 30 new products this year, including tote bags, folding chairs, skillets, dog beds, and a lot more.
Just recently, shares of Yeti dropped more than -10% after the company reported mixed earnings.
Heading into the report, analysts forecasted that Yeti would earn $0.54 per share on sales of $462.8 million. Yeti beat the earnings estimate with a $0.66 per-share. Bbut then, they missed on sales – reporting only $445.9 million.
Buying opportunity? Perhaps.
At the same time, Dick’s Sporting Goods will announce results for the second quarter of fiscal 2025 before the market opens on Thursday, August 28th. If the shares drop, similar to YETI, it could be a nice buying opportunity as well.
YOUR ACTION PLAN
Based on how these earnings reactions go, I plan to trade these names inside The War Room. In fact, I plan to issue a new trade on ONON early this week to prepare for the coming earnings release.
