In case you haven’t heard, Donald Trump is preparing to hold a government-funded military parade on his 79th birthday this Saturday.

According to NBC News, the event will have more than 9,000 soldiers, 130 military vehicles, 50 helicopters, and eight Army bands in attendance. All of this to stroke the president’s ego.

The price tag? Up to $45 million in taxpayer dollars.

This comes at the same time the Trump administration stripped millions of dollars in school mental health resources and removed grants from community violence intervention programs — things that we KNOW help prevent violence.

Donald Trump is sending a clear message: He would rather spend your money celebrating himself than solving issues that help our families. This is wrong, and we have to speak out now.
