Robert –
Just a quick update from Los Angeles, mostly involving Donald Trump’s illegal deployment of the National Guard and United States Marines into a major American city.
First, we filed an emergency motion to block the deployments. Trump is turning the military against American citizens and the courts must immediately block these actions.
Second, it’s important for you to know that Trump sent the National Guard here without fuel, water, food or even any kind of clarity of mission. Many of them are just sitting around, or forced to sleep on the floor piled on top of one another.
Finally, for all of those who caught Donald Trump’s press conference earlier today, he said that we spoke yesterday. We did not. There was no call or voicemail.
It is, frankly, more than a little bit concerning that a president deploying Marines onto our streets doesn’t even know who he’s talking to about it.
