Yesterday, I held a rally in Staten Island outside Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ district office to urge her and her Republican colleagues to reverse course, save Medicaid for the 8 million Americans — and 52,000 of her own constituents — who will lose it if the GOP billionaire bill becomes law.

After insisting she wouldn’t cut Medicaid, Rep. Malliotakis yet again caved to Donald Trump and sold out her constituents to cut taxes for billionaires.

Do not fall for their lies, Rj. They are not cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. They are not just firing staff. And illegal immigrants already cannot enroll in federal Medicaid.

Staten Island is a vibrant, diverse borough that is home to countless union members, teachers, police and fire department employees, and health care professionals. Rep. Malliotakis just voted to take away health care, food benefits, childcare, and other vital programs from her own constituents, which will also jack up prices of everything, especially health care.

I am speaking out today and every single day to make sure that Nicole Malliotakis and every New York Republican know that we are not buying their lies. They are accountable to their constituents — not Donald Trump — and we must make sure they feel that.
