House Republicans just passed the largest Medicaid cut in U.S. history.
David Schweikert has proven time and time again that he’d rather throw Arizonans under the bus than stand up to Trump and his party bosses. This time, he couldn’t even be bothered to do his job and show up to vote — but he’s made it crystal clear he supports this cruel bill.
Trump’s budget would kick millions of people from their health insurance and literally take food out of children’s mouths — all in favor of putting more money in the pockets of billionaires.
This is bad, really bad. And while Schweikert has been asleep at the wheel, Marlene has been in the community listening to how this budget would hurt Arizona families.

- Cuts food assistance for 85,000 people right here in AZ-01.
- Inflates the budget deficit by nearly $4 trillion.
Schweikert is an unmitigated coward whose support of this budget is exceptionally hypocritical, especially from a self-proclaimed deficit hawk. For 13 weeks, Schweikert’s constituents protested outside of his office, urging him to fight for Medicaid, but he couldn’t even bother to show up and vote to protect it.
