House Republicans are hoping to pass their billionaire budget before Memorial Day weekend and we need your help to stop it.
This bill makes permanent the Trump tax scam that disproportionately benefits the wealthiest families and corporations at the expense of critical human needs programs like Medicaid and SNAP that benefit vulnerable families and communities.
Call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected with your Representative. Tell them to vote “No” on Trump’s billionaire budget. (Not sure of your Rep’s name? Click house.gov and enter your zip code where it says “Find Your Representative” on the upper right.)
Here’s a script you can use:
“Hello. My name is [NAME] and I live in [CITY AND STATE]. I am calling to urge Representative [NAME] to vote against the budget package that guts basic needs programs.
This budget gives tax handouts to the wealthy while cutting critical programs like Medicaid and SNAP, which millions of people depend on to survive. We must not pay for more tax breaks for the wealthy on the backs of vulnerable people.
Please share my thoughts with the Representative and urge them to reject this harmful bill when it comes up for a vote this week. Thank you.”
They are pulling out all the stops to fast-track this horrible budget package. This morning, President Trump went to Capitol Hill to pressure holdouts, and they are scheduled to take up the combined package in the Rules Committee in the middle of the night just to ram this thing through. We need to make our voices loud and clear to sink this horrible attack on basic needs programs. Please call today!
