Next week, the House is expected to vote on a budget reconciliation bill that would be catastrophically harmful to millions of people across the country.

This bill isn’t just another piece of legislation—it’s a full-scale attack on health care justice.

If passed, the bill would:

• Slash over $700 billion from Medicaid over ten years
• Kick at least 8.6 million Americans off their health insurance
• Impose harsh work requirements and asset tests, making it harder for low-income families to qualify for care
• Decimate safety net programs like SNAP (food assistance), forcing states to shoulder more costs and cut services

Hospitals and community health centers across the country—especially in states with high Medicaid enrollment—would be devastated. There’s no way around it: all of us will feel the impact of these cuts. But the people hurt most? Chronically ill patients, low-income individuals and families, and disabled folks.

We can’t let this bill pass.

That’s why we’re joining forces with Americans for Tax Fairness, Public Citizen, and dozens of advocacy partners for a virtual rally and town hall this Monday, May 19 from 7:30–8:30 PM ET/4:30–5:30 PM PT.
