Women, Peace, and Security
Today, our joke of a Defense Secretary posted about how proud he was to end the Women, Peace, and Security program at the Department of Defense.
Congratulations, Pete. Your bravery will never be forgotten. 🙄 But, one thing, before we go:
Check the date on that — 2017. Passed Senate, passed House, sent to President, became law. Now, remind us… who was the President back in 2017?
That guy. Huh. Well, at least the Trump Administration is all on the same page about this now.
Er, wait, hang on a minute.
Oh, so Secretary Rubio was just praising the Women, Security, and Peace Act and Trump’s role in getting it passed earlier this month. Wow!
Well, at least there isn’t anything more important happening in the world right now.
Sheesh. You might even get the idea that Pete Hegseth isn’t focused on the job and is just interested in looking good for Fox News and his Twitter followers.
Oof.
Rj, Pete Hegseth is not a serious person.
He was never up to the challenges that come with leading the Department of Defense. He never should’ve been nominated. He never should’ve been confirmed. He should have been fired after the Signal leaks. He should have resigned after it became clear he continued violating operational security in chats with his wife, his brother, and his lawyer.
But he is still the Secretary of Defense. He doesn’t have enough respect for the office to resign, and Trump isn’t moving to fire him (yet).
So, it’s up to us to keep ringing this bell. VoteVets is going to continue holding Hegseth accountable as he endangers the lives of American Troops and puts our National Security at risk. We won’t let him have a single easy day.
