Anna-Christina Cabrales is Wine Enthusiast’s Tasting Director and reviewer for Burgundy, Champagne, and Rhône. She’s a mentor for Wine Unify and Bâtonnage Forum, and founder of Sommation, a Dame Chevalier for L’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne and the NY liaison for the Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne. Anna-Christina travels to France quarterly and this year she will be inducted into the La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, which is a fraternity of wine connoisseurs who work to protect and promote the Burgundy AOP. With a background as Director of Education at Independence Wine & Spirits and Wine Director at Morrell Wine Bar, this French Culinary Institute graduate and sommelier will personally curate wine pairings for the trip’s culinary experiences.
Arrive at Lyon Airport for a group transfer to Beaune. Begin with an exclusive tasting at Château du Moulin-à-Vent, a Beaujolais estate known for its elevated Gamay wines. This 18th-century estate features powerful and elegant wines from granite soils, symbolized by its iconic windmill. Settle in before a welcome dinner at Le Bouillon.
Explore Beaune, including the Hospices de Beaune and a local cheese shop. Enjoy a bistro lunch followed by an exclusive afternoon tasting at Bouchard Père & Fils. Dinner is at the acclaimed Loiseau des Vignes.
Start with a visit and tasting at Château de la Crée, followed by a family-style lunch. Continue to Domaine Moillard in Nuits-Saint-Georges, known for its historic cellars and Burgundy varietals. The afternoon includes a tasting and candlelit cellar visit at Domaine Marguerite Carillon. Enjoy a free evening.
Depart for Dijon with a morning visit to Maison Louis Latour. Tour the historic Château du Clos de Vougeot. After lunch, enjoy a tasting at Château de Marsannay, known for its diverse range of wines. Enjoy a leisurely evening in Dijon.
Journey to Chablis for a tour and tasting at Domaine Laroche, known for its refined Chardonnay reflecting the region’s Kimmeridgian soils. Enjoy a seasonal Burgundy lunch paired with the estate’s wines. Return to Dijon for a free evening.
Begin with a Crémant de Bourgogne tasting at Louis Bouillot. Weather permitting, enjoy a hike in Nuits-Saint-Georges. After lunch, choose between a visit and tasting at Domaine du Clos Saint Louis or a mustard workshop at Moutarderie Fallot. Conclude with a farewell gourmet dinner in Dijon.
