We’re golden! Come join us on Tuesday, April 22 as the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania celebrates 50 years to the day that our world-class museum of railroad history first opened to the public in 1975.

We’ll have brief remarks by guest dignitaries, a new exhibit, “Tracking Our History: 50 Years of the Railroad Museum In Pictures,” a new tour, “Building a Museum in 50 Years” and music by the Lampeter-Strasburg High School band, whose predecessors performed at the Museum on opening day 50 years ago.

Various pieces of railroad equipment will be open in the afternoon and the Museum telegrapher will be located in Steinman Station. Also on hand will be Museum educators at the victory garden, the Heirloom Seed Project, Catcher, the Museum’s mascot, a scavenger hunt for kids, a work-in-progress HO scale model of the Museum and train yard, Bachmann Trains and two food vendors for your convenience.

Learn more about our 50th anniversary inaugural day.  We’ll see you there!
