Christina and her husband were searching for a companion for a kitten they had found when they attended a Petco Adoptapalooza event. At the end of the event, Pickle was one of the few kittens without a submitted adoption application. They fell in love with him immediately!
“Pickle loves me in a way that I didn’t know a cat could. He learned how to do tricks in exchange for a kiss on his head, and he shows me his belly to ask for a pet whenever I walk by. When I’m in video meetings, Pickle sits on my lap and stares into my eyes. People ask me how they could find a cat who looks at them the way he looks at me? ‘Easy – adopt!’” Christina says.
She continues, “For me, the natural next step was to open New York’s first adoptable cat café, Meow Parlour, to give everyone a chance to meet their next best friend. Pickle has not only changed my life, but my love for him has helped change the lives of so many other cats and their families.
Over the past 12 years, Pickle has set the tone in our home, helping foster over 450 cats and kittens for Meow Parlour. For the last three years, he’s been especially crucial in integrating fospice cats, keeping guard over them and helping them adjust to their new environment,” says Christina.
