His birthday is especially meaningful in 2025, as we mark the 250th commemoration of the American Revolutionary War. A battle for liberty that was led by General George Washington.
In honor of our formidable Founding Father, we have a special matching opportunity. Tom and Char Hand, our generous friends at Americana Corner’s Preserving America Grant program, have offered to match all gifts dollar for dollar up to $250,000.
Thanks to this generous match, your donations will activate an on-site Revolutionary War encampment at Mount Vernon this spring!
Using period-appropriate reproduction tents and equipment, visitors will be able to walk through and explore what life was like at a Revolutionary War camp under Washington’s command.
