Defensible Space and Fire Reluctant Landscaping.
Hello All,
Well, we are quickly getting into 2025. This year we expect to make great strides in increasing the use of native plants in our planting around our homes for a multitude of reasons. One of our goals is to have a speaker series to help us on this venture.
One of the major implications of that decision is our ability to survive a wildfire. Toward that end, we will host a great speaker on that topic next week.
Please come to listen and learn from Teresa Vonn, Fire Risk Reduction Specialist with the Oregon State Fire Marshall. She will help us plan and protect our property (house and landscaping) to better survive a wildfire with her talk – Defensible Space and Fire Reluctant Landscaping.
She will be at the Shady Cove Library onJanuary 27th at 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
Please send me a brief email if you think you might attend. This is not a hard commitment, I simply would like to have enough chairs and refreshments.
Looking forward to seeing you. Thank You, hank
