Dear Peter,
Abandoned as a tiny kitten, Jacque’s hidden heart condition was a ticking time bomb. Thankfully, he landed in our care. During his initial examination in our Pet Health Centers, we discovered Jacque has pulmonary stenosis, a rare congenital condition that affects the heart and requires daily medication and regular echocardiograms. Despite his tender heart, Jacque’s resilient spirit remains strong — and, because of our Pet Sponsorship Program, this little charmer found his way into a wonderful home.
When you become a Pet Sponsor, you help fund major operations and provide ongoing medical care for special-needs pets like Jacque for the rest of their lives. Your sponsorship aids the dogs and cats who would have been overlooked due to the higher costs related to their ongoing medical treatment and increases the chance these special and deserving companion animals can find a loving home. |
Jacque’s adopters fell in love with him the moment they saw his tiny paw reach out from under the door at our adoption center, and it was Jacque who stayed in their hearts even after meeting other cats. His new family was no stranger to special-needs pets, and when they learned that Jacque’s medications and future surgery are covered by the Pet Sponsorship Program, they were ready to give him the home he deserved.
Renamed Boo, this special boy has acclimated wonderfully to his new life. Boo’s quirky personality has also emerged — he loves to perch on the tub’s ledge during showers, and he absolutely insists on having every door open, knocking persistently if it’s closed.
Become a member of the Pet Sponsorship Program and you can be part of Boo’s journey from a kitten with a serious heart condition to a happy and adored family member. You can also ensure that animals like him, who need extra care and attention, can have the medical treatment and love they deserve. Your compassion can make all the difference. |
