Happy Juneteenth! Today, we commemorate and celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. That said, it is essential to recognize that the journey toward true freedom is far from complete.

One critical aspect of this ongoing struggle is the fight for voting rights – a battle that disproportionately affects Black and other communities of color.

◼️ Call Voters! Our phone banks increase Black voter turnout by 16%. We are now calling voters in North Carolina for a pledge-to-vote campaign. Join a National Guided Phone Bank Training every Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm ET and make calls with us! Sign up here.

◼️ Send Postcards! Our handwritten postcards motivate people to act. We reach Black voters overlooked by political campaigns and other organizations. Our efforts work! In every election, we hear from voters that our postcards are the only outreach our voters experience. Data shows increased participation by Black voters where we postcard. Join us!

◼️ Attend Online Events! Join us on Monday, June 24 at 7 pm ET with Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester to hear about her work traveling the country, hearing from Black voters, and understanding their sentiments towards the upcoming election and the issues that matter most to them. Sign up here. 

◼️ Donate! Support our Democracy Center leaders working on the ground in their communities to get out the vote and our national staff who makes all our work possible. Your donation will help us achieve our goal of reaching 18 million Black voters this year. Give today.
