Our family was a fan of her movies and I think my mom had just about every record she ever made!
When I found this DVD I was thrilled. It is from Doris’ delightful TV special which aired on CBS in 1971. It is also known as “The Doris Mary Anne Kappelhoff Special” That is Doris’ real name.
It is non-stop singing, dancing and fun! Some of the songs included were “Sentimental Journey,” “Hurry, It’s Lovely Up Here,” “Both Sides Now,” “The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)” and “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.” Perry Como sings “Didn’t We” and shared some duets with Miss Day performing “Everybody Loves A Lover,” “Quiet Nights and Quiet Stars” and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” Surrounded by her pets Miss Day sings “You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby”.
Joining Doris are Perry Como and a surprise appearance by Rock Hudson. You’ll even get to see outtakes and deleted scenes that are only featured on this DVD.
