A heartfelt thanks🌲💚
Dear Peter,
Our year-end campaign has come to a close, and we’re beyond grateful to share that the generosity of your fellow redwoods supporters helped us to hit our goal for the Redwood Land Fund.
It’s hard to overstate the importance of this fund to the League’s work. As many of you know, we’ve protected more than 225,000 acres of redwood forests over the past 105 years, and in that time, we’ve also learned a great deal about what saving the redwoods really means.
Conservation requires more than “representative stands” of old-growth trees, as our leaders once believed. Now, thanks to the ever-evolving work of our scientists and conservationists, we understand that one protected grove does not a forest make.
We’ve learned to focus on protecting the sea of young redwood forests that surround the island of old growth already protected.
When we protect a redwood forest, we’re keeping alive the ancient roots of forests that have existed for millennia.
This successful fundraising for the Redwood Land Fund will translate directly into more forests protected and growing into healthy old growth, all thanks to you.
From all of us at the League, and from the forests awaiting protection, thank you for being part of our conservation family.
