We start today with the latest crime news, as two 17-year-old girls were wounded in a shooting after a fight broke out at a house party in the middle of town early Sunday. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered the two victims, one with a wound to the arm and another with a wound to the head. Here is what we know about the shooting. In sports, the Casa Grande Union basketball team is gearing up for another season. Last year, a loss in the play-in round left a bad taste in the team’s mouth. However, the team is confident this will be the year they achieve their championship aspirations.
Plus, Casa Grande is considering alternative housing including “tiny homes” and some made from refurbished shipping containers. Casa Grande Planning and Development Director Paul Tice told the City Council that shipping containers and “tiny homes” could be an alternative housing source pending proposed city code text amendments that planning staff are currently working on. |
