Step For a Good Cause with Gait-to-Gate
November is here which means it is time for Gait-to-Gate! This year, we are benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital once again, supporting their lifesaving mission of finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Registration is open all November long. To register, Members are asked to make a minimum $10 donation to St. Jude using your community specific registration link, available in the News Section of MTL or by clicking here. Your tax-deductible donation serves as your “registration fee,” and allows you to participate in your community’s Gait-to-Gate Events (click here to see them). You’ll also receive a special “thank you” gift from BlueStar (while supplies last) and will be invited to track your steps via an app called Pacer to help us raise even more money for St. Jude.
By tracking your steps, every mile* our Members collectively walk and track via Pacer, BlueStar Resort & Golf will donate $0.10 per mile, up to $5,000 to St. Jude! So, every step you take is a step towards making a difference in the lives of St. Jude patients and families.

Cup of Cozy Week is Coming November 6th – 12th
Light the fireplace, take out your favorite mug, and grab a fuzzy blanket – we’re about to get cozy! Cup of Cozy week is all about stewarding in that warm fall feeling with a mug of goodness. Keep an eye on your MTL Events calendar for event like hearty cooking demos, delightful mixology demonstrations, hot cocoa and coffee bars, and other surprises all week long!
This is the first time we have ever hosted Cup of Cozy Week, so we look forward to seeing how you all get cozy this fall!
Keynote Speaker Series | Saturday, November 18
Join us for our final Keynote Speaker Series event of the year on Saturday, November 18th. In this final event of Dr. Landry’s series on Resilience, he’ll discuss Emotional Intelligence, Health & Resilience. Dr. Landry will focus on human emotions: their purpose, benefits, and risks, how they function, and how they relate to our thoughts and behavior. This understanding can guide us through the times where runaway emotions could be harmful to our health and relationships. Realizing how our emotions work to protect us but have the potential to harm us, we can then begin the process of developing our own EQ and thereby enhance our resilience. Dr. Landry will provide us with simple and easy-to-implement strategies to build our EQ and make our lifespan a health-span.
Lastly, this presentation will summarize our 2023 journey towards a healthy longevity.

“Foods that provide an extra powerful nutritional punch often earn the title of superfood, and deservedly so, as these typically provide not only the energy and nutrients we expect from our diet, but often also provide a medicinal or therapeutic effect.
We as a society love to highlight a superfood for a while, and then fickly tend to move on to the next hot one for no good reason at all. Pomegranate is a great example of our limited nutritional attention spans, as the fruit and its powerful juice had a heyday about twenty years ago, with many of us participating in its consumption for a while, then moving on.”
