The CIS Ombudsman’s Webinar Series: Engagement with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on the Naturalization Test Redesign Initiative
Wednesday, July 19, 2023
1-2 p.m. Eastern Time
The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) invites you to participate in an informational session regarding USCIS’ naturalization test redesign initiative tomorrow, Wednesday
On December 15, 2022, USCIS announced that it will conduct a nationwide trial and engagement process to inform possible changes to the naturalization test in response to stakeholder feedback about the standardization and structure of the test. The trial will provide feedback and test possible changes to the English-speaking portion of the test and updates to the content and format of the civics test. This initiative supports the goals outlined in Executive Order 14012, Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans, which directs a comprehensive review of the naturalization process to eliminate barriers and make the process more accessible to all eligible individuals. USCIS will use the results of the trial to assess any possible changes to the naturalization test.
During the webinar, CIS Ombudsman staff will engage in a dialogue with USCIS to provide an overview of the test redesign process, including background on the initiative and how the test may be administered.
