There will also be discussion on the agency’s role in the broader biomedical research enterprise in promoting the application of knowledge to enhance human health.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 reauthorized and expanded the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) to provide $10B in support for small businesses by stimulating private investment. SSBCI provides funds to states, territories and Tribal governments to promote American entrepreneurship, democratize access to capital and support small business growth, including in underserved communities.
This webinar will provide angel investors and other stakeholders in entrepreneur ecosystems an overview of SSBCI and the types of programs used by jurisdictions to support equity investment in startups:
  • What is SSBCI and how does it work?
  • How can angel investors and/or angel funds participate in SSBCI-supported programs?
  • Where can I find more information about SSBCI?
The ACA is proud to announce the AngelBox Basics toolkit, a complimentary, interactive guide designed to equip ecosystem builders with the tools they need to launch a new angel organization. This toolkit was created with generous support from VentureWell. During this webinar, you will hear from two experienced angels who have launched their own angel organizations and will share critical lessons learned. So come listen and learn the best practices for launching your own angel organization!
“We all collectively dodged a bullet after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank which threatened to destroy a whole generation of startups. Had the US Treasury and Federal Reserve Bank not intervened quickly, many companies would have lost their hard-won deposits and the market collapse would have made it extremely difficult for them to access new financing.
Many more companies in and outside the tech sector would have struggled as their products and services stopped working because of reliance on these newly defunct tech companies’ products. While the short-term impact would have been dramatic for our entire economy, the long-term impact would have been far greater because it would have likely resulted in an unparalleled mass extinction event covering a whole generation of companies.
To understand the importance of that dynamic, this article explores the 100 largest employers in the US today and breaks them into decades since their founding to reveal insights on the long-term impact of losing a generation of startups…”

Protecting ACA Member Data Privacy
We have recently become aware that some bad actors are contacting angel groups and others with a solicitation to sell ACA member names and contact information. Rest assured that ACA does not and will not sell lists directly or through any third party nor do any of these groups have ACA member data. Unfortunately, this scam is fairly typical and many of these bad actors reside outside the U.S. making prosecution for fraudulent activity even more challenging. Under no circumstances should you engage with nor send funds to any entity reporting to have ACA member information for sale. If contacted by any such groups that claim to represent ACA, please notify ACA immediately.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to our Membership Director, Sarah Dickey, by email or by calling 913-894-4700, extension 2.
