STUDY SPOTLIGHT  🔬
In March, we launched a new study called Text Education About Cardiovascular Health and HIV  (Teach – HIV) led by Megan McLaughlin, MD, MPH, Priscilla Hsue, MD, Alexis Beatty, MD, MAS, and Jeff Olgin, MD.

The goal of this study is to better understand the risk of heart disease in people living with HIV and how to lower this risk. As part of the study, we will be testing the impact of educational text messages about HIV and heart disease. Participants will be randomized to two groups (the text messaging group and the control group). Participants in the messaging group will look at outcomes like blood pressure, cholesterol, diet, and exercise to see if the text messages helped to lower heart disease risk.

If you know someone who may be interested in our study, you can forward this email to them or send them our study email address: teachhiv@ucsf.edu
