Good morning RJ,
We had a fantastic time at Country Thunder this past week! If you did not get a chance to attend, we have plenty of photos, videos and stories for you to check out. We spoke with performer Mackenzie Carpenter on Friday, who brought her signature sound to the main stage.Carpenter performed at Country Thunder for the first time in her career and said she was thrilled to be included.
While the four-day event went off with little to no reported incidents, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is looking into one event where a small plane flew frighteningly low over the Country Thunder stage area. PCSO is searching for the pilot who executed the stunt during Saturday’s event, as the flyover gave attendees quite the scare during Jackson Dean’s performance.
Finally, to wrap up our Country Thunder coverage, we took a look at one of the event’s most popular attractions, the Electric Thunder tent. Inside the tent, hundreds of dancers compete for big prizes, with some traveling from across the country to show off their skills. Read about how important dancing is to some of the competitors, and why they come to Florence every year to partake in the event.
